Routes
Crewed Yacht Charters:
Everyday our yachts normally visit two or
three bays with a maximum 4 hours sailing per day. Our last stop of the day
will be where we moor for the night. It is necessary for our yachts to visit
a harbour every three or four days to enable us to take on fresh water and
provisions. These harbours are normally found in little fishing villages or
small towns. Traditional wooden yachts usually cruise with an engine, but
they can use their sails if the wind direction fits the rotation and is
strong enough.
Food & Drink:
Turkish cuisine is ranked amongst the world's top cuisines. Deliciously
fresh and lusciously sun-ripened fruit and vegetables are plentiful.
Bread is a particular treat - freshly baked and dangerously
more-ish!
Whilst on board, your day
will start your with a traditional Turkish breakfast, consisting of fresh
bread with cheeses, olives, honey, jam, yogurt, tomatoes and fruit. A light
lunch is next in line - with perhaps stuffed aubergine, rice wıth salad one
day or Börek, which are traditional savoury pastries stuffed with meat or
cheese, the next. Afternoon tea takes place around 5 pm. As the sun sets on
the horizon enjoy diner, starting with traditional mezes, freshly grilled
seafood and meats, served with salads and fruit to finish.
You might want to try and
catch your own fish and have it barbecued on board or shore - as with
everything on a gulet cruise, flexibility is the key.
Local drinks are
excellent accompaniments to dinner – anyone who visits Turkey must try ıt’s
National drink – Raki, served with water and ice for a traditional & highly
intoxicating experience! Local beer with its crisp taste will give you that
feeling of extra refreshment, or why not sample some of Turkey's range of
home produced wines. Another tradational drink, widely comsumed here is
Ayran, a combination of yogurt, salt and water mixed together giving it a
unique flavour.
You
can buy all kinds of drinks from our bars. We have soft drinks, local and
imported alcoholic beverages available on board or for Private Charter,
guests are also welcome to provide their own beverages. If you have a
request for a specific drink that may not be stocked in our bars, please
inform us in advance.
Also
for private charters, the food provided on board can be organized by our
company. The menu includes the service of a full Turkish breakfast, four
course lunch, afternoon tea or coffee with cake/cookies and a five course
dinner. However, guests on board are welcome to buy their own food stocks
if they wish. Either way our cook on board will prepare and serve all meals
for you. The menu is prepared mainly in the famous traditional Turkish
Kitchen. If you have any other special requirements such as communal
requests, religious preferences or health orientated diets, these can be
organized with advance notice.
With
bareboat charters you will easily find restaurants in the little fishing
villages where you can eat fresh fish or sample local dishes.
In
cabin charters the price listed includes full board accommodation and we use
fixed weekly menus for these cruises. Should you have special dietary needs
please inform us in advance.
Activities:
All our traditional yachts are equipped with windsurfing, fishing dingy with
outboard and snorkeling equipment. There is also a large variety of
different water sports such as jet-skiing, water-skiing, banana riding
available at modarate prices organised by independant water sports groups at
different bays visited. Upon request, we can arrange jet or water skiing
equipment for you to hire during your charter. Once the boat is moored our
guests can visit the local archaeological sites, take a walk up into the
pine forests or explore the beautiful coastline. You can relax reading a
book or just enjoy a snooze under the canopy whilst a sea breeze cools you.
Of course, sealovers will enjoy swimming, snorkeling or lazing in the sun.
There is something for everyone!
With
our Charter Programmes you can also enjoy an extra adventure on land
with one of our day tours. You could visit the nearby local towns
and experience a famous Turkish Bath, explore ancient sites, absorb
the beauty of our natural landscape or even pop over to a Greek
Island such a Rhodes. We can also organize shopping tours to local
handicraft centres or bazaars to give you a chance to see the
extensive range of carpets, leather, jewellery and textile produced
here in Turkey.
İt’s
simple to add to the great variety of experiences you will have whilst you
are on holiday with us! For further information on our in-land day tours
please vists our extra options page.
Our
yachts cruise quite close to shore, and most stops are in beautiful bays and
coves. The waves very rarely cause discomfort, so the ride is almost always
smooth. There has been no reported cases of a shark attack in the history of
this country, so you can be sure that your swim will be a safe one.
As with everything on a gulet cruise, itineraries are designed to be
fairly flexible. While the captain, who knows all the secrets of the
coastline, follows a general route, he is always happy where possible to
accommodate a special request from his guests. However, due to unforeseen
circumstances, weather conditions or the safety of his passengers/boat,
itineraries may be changed by the captain at anytime.
